Our Summerville Adventure!

So…we did this thing today.  I guess it’s something every “new” married couple looks forward to but it’s certainly not something we were planning.  We bought a house!  Yes, we already had a house (we both did actually before we got married!), but John came upon this little gem a while back and we were absolutely determined to make it ours!

Street Side Entrance!

After a very long three months and lots of back and forth between us and the sellers, we finally closed on the house today.  It is located within the Historic District of Summerville and has so much history and charm.  Best we can tell the home dates back to the late 1800’s or early 1900’s.  Researching the history of the home is something we are definitely looking forward to!

As with any home, there is certainly work to be done!  With a home as old as this one, there is a good bit to be done!  We are excited to share the journey of the work as we take this adorable cottage and make it our own.  Below is a sneak peak of where things internally will start…with peeling wall paper and painting!

We hope you’ll enjoy the journey as we start making this adorable historical piece our own.  In just a few months we are looking to making a full time transition to our paradise on the water, Cole’s Crabshack, to our adorable new house, Cole’s Cottage!  Stay tuned and join us on the adventure!
