The past two weeks have been a little “slow” around here. That’s actually why I skipped last week on the blog. Now, don’t take that to mean things aren’t getting done. We have certainly gotten a lot done (by we please read John lol). It’s all the little things that are taking up so much time right now.
By little things I mean things like lighting in the ceiling for the kitchen. John had to cut the holes for the can lights but also run all new electrical for them. He has had to do a lot of trip work, insulating, electrical work, and other odd jobs that just take up so much time.

But, there are some noticeable big things too. The first big thing would be our living room being done! John, his sister Nancy, and his mom Donna all worked together and finished the shiplap on the walls and got it all painted up.

The other real big thing is the first step to our kitchen getting done! This was probably the most frustrating part thus far because we were waiting on others. We were waiting on the cabinets to get done and now we are waiting for the counter tops to be finished. When you’re moving along like we have been it’s tough to be waiting on others to move forward. But, cabinets are 80% done so that’s a huge step in the right direction!

Another huge thing for us this week was getting our laundry room set up! We were back and forth for a week or so on the type of machine for the laundry room. We already had an awesome washer and dryer but because of the tight space John wanted to get a laundry center where they are stacked together. I was absolutely against it but after a bit of research I was able to find one with a pretty large washer that doesn’t have an agitator so I gave in. We got real lucky and found it locally yesterday at Conns Appliances and they even delivered today! We have certainly put it to good use this afternoon are so grateful to be able to do our laundry in our own home again! Even if the instal of the vent isn’t quite done yet (see photo!).

All in all we have had a couple really good weeks. We have even managed to get out and about now that we are back in town. We rode the tandem all over town a week ago and earlier this week we rode up to dinner at Five Loaves then over to the candy shop for ice cream. Being so close to town is great and we love being able to walk, run, and bike everywhere! We seem to be right on track for our big House Warming Party in April….just a few more inside projects then on to the outside we go!

Everything looks great Rachel! Can’t wait to see it!
